No Bake Slutty Brownie Trifle

slutty-brownie-triffle

I don’t know about you, but licking brownie batter and cookie dough from the bowl is one of my absolute favorite things about baking! If you are the same way, then this trifle is for you. Cookie dough lines the bottom, topped with crushed Oreos, and then that is topped with eggless brownie batter. Put a dollop of whipped cream on top and I can promise you will be in pure bliss!

Yes. This dessert is completely insane. The idea for this trifle all started when I made this Triple Layer Brownie Chocolate Chip Oreo Cake (Slutty Brownie Cake) with my sister. We basically licked half of the batter that was supposed to be baked (sorry not sorry). Of course my sister and I discovered that once you eat a certain amount of batter with raw eggs in it, your stomach starts to hurt and you don’t know if it is actually salmonella poisoning or just your mind playing tricks on you. Fast forward a few days, and my sister was talking about wanting some cookie dough. Then it hit me! Why not make a trifle with pure unbaked goodness?! So my sister and I were off to experiment with this wild concoction and soon we were eating an unbaked slutty brownie: Cookie dough, crushed Oreos, and brownie batter. Oh and my sister also informed me that it was national whipped cream day, so we put some of that on top because why not?!

Ok so quick little notes before the recipe. First, I used individual trifles for this dessert and it made about 8-10 trifles. Second, since the brownie is not baked, the batter might have a little bit of crystals from the sugar in it. Once you refrigerate the brownie batter and pour it in with all of the rest of ingredients, it will not be a problem. That’s all! Get ready to do some no-baking!

No Bake Slutty Brownie Trifle

Ingredients:
For the Cookie Dough:
1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

For the Brownie Batter:
2 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon canola oil
1/2 stick (1/4 cup) unsalted butter, melted
3 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, melted
1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/2 tablespoon coffee
1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt

For Assembly:
8 Oreos, crushed
Whipped topping, store-bought or homemade
Mini chocolate chips

Directions:
For the Cookie Dough:
1) Using an electric or handheld mixer, beat together butter and sugars on medium speed for 2-3 minutes. Beat in milk and vanilla.
2) With the mixer on low-speed, slowly add flour and salt. Fold in chocolate chips.
3) Place cookie dough in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

For the Brownie Batter:
1) In a small bowl, whisk together water and oil. Set aside.
2) In a large bowl, whisk together butter and chocolate. Add water/oil mixture, sugar, vanilla, coffee, and salt and whisk to combine. Stir in flour just until combined.
3) Place brownie batter in fridge for at least 30 minutes.

For Assembly:
1) 5 minutes before assembling trifles, take out brownie batter and cookie dough from the fridge.
2) Place out individual trifles (or similar serving dishes) and place enough cookie dough to cover the bottom. Sprinkle each trifle with crushed Oreos so that they cover all of the cookie dough. Pour desired brownie batter on top of Oreos.
3) Allow trifles to sit for 5 minutes, then top with whipped topping and mini chocolate chips.
4) Cover trifles with plastic wrap, then place trifles in the fridge for at least 2 hours, or overnight. Trifles will stay good for up to 5 days in the fridge.
